<p>I think if your gpa and scores are iffy. The extras and the essay could swing it in your favor. I got accepted to UCSD with an ok score and a GPA that’s 4.03. I think I got in because of my essay and my extras. I hope that kind of helped.</p>

<p>Our GC says that UCSD is quite competitive to get in, especially for folks who are OOS, especially if you’re interested in engineering or sciences.</p>
<p>I’m an OOS and I got into a science major. Plus my counselor had no experience with the UC system so I had to wing it. My stats were ok, not excellent. I think it’s my ecs and my essay that got me in.</p>
