My daughter just received, through email, the wonderful news that she was admitted to her first choice school. However, after reading the “letter” again with her, I noticed that it stated she was admitted for January 2012, not the fall of 2011. My daughter did not even notice the date the first time she read the news as she was so excited after seeing “Congratulations!”

Why would a school opt to admit someone 3 months later? My daughter is calling the school today. I have heard of this before with other students. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of admission? Were you able to appeal to get in earlier?

Thanks
