So, one of the colleges I’m applying to has the option to list a Friend/Peer as a way I learned about the school. One of my friends got admitted ED (same school as me), so would it be a good idea to list his name (they ask for a name) there? He did influence me to apply. Also, they have an option called “Current Student”. Technically, he could be considered a current student since he matriculated, however, would it be best if I just listed him as a Friend?
If he was admitted last month in the ED round, he is not a current student, technically or otherwise. Accepting an offer ≠ matriculated. Regardless, it does not matter how you classify him.
@skieurope Do you think it’d hurt my chance of admission pointing out that they already admitted a friend of mine from the same school?
Why would you even do that? Is it not just a dropdown box that allows you to select “friend” (or whatever) and then the next option might be to list the name? No need to make an essay about it, nor do you need to tell them who they’ve admitted - they know who they’ve admitted.
Colleges care about what the recommendation says about you, not the qualifications of the recommender.
