Admitted student help!!!

Yeah I am just hoping that they will just move on…

my cousin was admitted with an ACT score of 20, so if you have above that i think they wouldnt rescind your acceptance.

What was your cousin’s major?

She was accepted into business.

Oh ok…thx for your info. I sent another score which is 26… I hope they would just move On

Was she athlete

26 i think would definitely be fine, and no she was not an athlete.

I think people are asking WHY they are cancelling your score

An ACT score of 20 admitted into Business? What year was that? Sounds very sketchy when the average ACT is 28-32. Hmmmm…but that is besides the point…

I think you have a special case Daniel and will just have to call Admissions and be completely honest and up front and I am sure things will work out.

I think I already told you… And. Yeah I am going to tell them what happened and see what they will do

When was the year ur cousin got accepted

yah my cousins had a 4.0 with taking 2 AP’s. and she did a lot of musical extra curricular activites. and she is a freshman there this year, so this just happened last year.

Oh ok well they said they will re-review my application with 26 and tell me later…as soon as my original score becomes invalid

Just wondering why they cancel your score without a reason…

The score range was too large between the two tests

That is pretty odd. Why do you think there was such a large difference in scores? Did you hit your head between tests hard enough to rattle your synapses? If the lower score test was just harder, and I firmly believe that difficulty can vary from test to test, just take it a 3rd time to show them that the first score wasn’t a fluke.

I think ACT thinks you somehow cheated the first time. You need to show them that you can get that first score again.

Because there was one year gap between the two tests and I study so hard?

Don’t worry about your ACT scores man,

UIUC has an acceptance rate of 70%…so technically minimum for ACTs is: 0.3 * 36 = 11 loll

get above an 11 and you’re fine lol

edit----------
after reading through all 3 pages…i’m kind of curious.
How big is the gap between the original and new score?

if you didn’t cheat then you must be from china lol. My cousin there told me the SAT teachers make their students memorize all the answers to the questions…lol…funny thing is that the students later get perfect scores on the real test…

since it’s memorization, they probably would forget a lot of the stuff after the test, and then if they re-take it they are screwed.

I am korean and it was 26to 34

If they cancel your score only because you retrograde, I would say that’s stupid. SAT and ACT to non-American Asians are “reading” and “vocab” tests instead of what they call themselves “intellectual” and “logical” tests (even ACT science), and it’s so common for people to forget those difficult vocabularies if they don’t review them for even a month.
