Adoptee looks for biological parents and learns dad is Charles Manson

"LIKE many adopted children, Matthew Roberts set about finding his biological parents with a mix of nerves and excitement.
In particular, he hoped that discovering his father’s identity would help him to work out what made him the man he had become.

But nothing could have prepared him for being told his dad was… serial killer CHARLES MANSON."

I wonder if the bio mom did the right thing in sharing this info.

I think knowing is usually better than not knowing.

I wonder if the adoptive (real) parents know this. Poor guy!

I heard this on the news this week. Talk about a huge bummer. I haven’t seen a picture of the guy yet, but I heard he looks exactly like Manson. Apparently, the mom told him his birth first and middle names but said she could only tell him the last name in person. At least that’s some couth.

You know the Sun is pretty much akin to The National Enquirer and it’s ilk, loosely disguised as a daily newspaper and with the added bonus (sarcasm) of naked boobies (human not gannets) usually large, on page 3, which were not appreciated by me on my daily train commute into London when someone sitting near me was reading the Sun. Not saying the story is not true but take it the way you would the Nat. Enquirer. Though come to think of it the National Enquirer does break some interesting stories mixed in with their dross. And they don’t have naked boobies.

I am betting fake.

I didn’t hear it/see it from the Sun. I heard it from a reputable national news source, unless their source was the Sun.

The news wire services picked up this story a few days ago. Why do any of us care?

Because it gives me an excuse to keep my aching body sitting here wasting time at my computer instead of getting of with the cooking I should be doing.

I gave in an went and read the article. Is it really possible to be “raped at a drug fueled orgy”? Sounds like an oxymoron to me. Maybe I misunderstand the terms.

The link to the article also shows a picture of the man and of Manson. The resemblance is remarkable.

Call me cynical but he could have seen the resemblance and concocted the story. I have to say if I found out Charles Manson was my father I would not publicize it nor would I write to him. The purported birth mom sounds like a delight - don’t think I’d care to know I was conceived in a drug fueled orgy whoever the parentage!!

sounds like the current plotline from “One Life To Live”…really similar…

Some also thought he looked like Ice T.

Man, I hope nobody plays him The Beatles “White Album”.

oh yeah, right! And John Edwards is the father of Rielle Hunter’s baby; you probably expect me to believe that too! oh… never mind

If the guy is lying about Manson’s being his father, I feel even more sorry for him.

Meanwhile, I have no clue either why anyone would publicize being Manson’s kid. Some people must be very desperate for attention.

I don’t understand why having Manson for a father would be such a disgrace…it’s not like he found out his father was Keith Olbermann…

Actually, I think the guy looks more like Nathan Lane…

Reminds me of the ‘Hitler’s relatives on Long Isand’ story a few years ago. Apparently a few people in the community heard ‘rumors’ over the years, but the family itself (family of der furher’s half-brother) really didn’t bring attention to themselves.
