What makes Adroit so selective? Apologies for my ignorance, but I’m a parent who just started guiding my HS sophomore through the process of applying to summer writing workshops, and heard that Adroit is very selective which surprises me because and it’s online! Is it engaging and worthwhile? My son told me that he’s not interested in online programs, but he may reconsider if it is very worthwhile. I hope students who did Adroit will chime in and provide feedback.

CONGRATS! you must be an amazing writer, I think I’ve also seen you in the scholastic writing chat, and if that was you, man, 11 gold keys is INSANE!!! if you don’t mind me asking, what category do you usually write in, and what did you apply to adroit in? would u be open to sharing anything that you wrote

THANKS SM ive seen u in so many of the writing threads too !! the hs literary community is honestly such a small world im so happy to meet other teen writers. I WAS SHOCKED TOO W THE GOLD KEYS last yr i only got 1 silver, lowk scared for nationals tho lmao. it would be embarassing if none of the entries won a medal- congrats on scholastic to u too.
i mainly write poetry ! strangely for scholastic a lot of my fiction won so i’m thinking of exploring that too. for adroit i was accepted for poetry. wbu? do u write more fiction, cnf, or poetry? and yep i’d be happy to share my writing sample, i’ll dm it to you rn
