Advanced Classes over EC's

This year I’m a senior applying to a few colleges and my EC’s have been lacking all through HS due to taking more advanced classes.

My EC’s are as follows:

XC Running- Freshman-Junior year(JV)
XC Skiing- Freshman-Senior year(V Junior and Senior year)
NHS- Sophomore-Senior year
Math Team- Sophomore-Junior year(V late in Sophomore year)
National Park Internship(Summer)- After Sophomore Year(200 volunteer hours)

Then these are the classes(that are important) I took and the average grades I got:

Underclassmen-
AP Human Geo, A
Pre-Calc, A
Honors Eng 9 and 10, A
Spanish 2 and 3, A
AP Stats, A-
AP Calc BC, A
APUSH, A
AP Chem, A
(All AP test were 5)

Junior Year(all at local University)-
Honors Calc 3 & 4, A-
Linear Algebra and Differential Equations- A
Intro Proof-Writing, A
Intro Linguistics, A
World History, A
Physics 1 & 2, A-

Over the Summer I took Complex Analysis and got a B

Senior Year(right now, grades are current)-
Point-Set Topology, B
Intro to Analysis, A-
Physics 3, A-
Anthropology Year 1, A

So, in conclusion, I was wondering if these classes would level out my lack of EC’s to get into some of the more prestigious colleges that I can’t afford.

(If you have any past experience with this I would love to hear about it)
Thank you

My testing scores are ACT: 35, SAT:1600, Math II: 800, World History: 760 and some others that are somewhere but I’m not sending in my apps right now so I won’t go looking

If you cannot afford them, then it is a waste of time and money to apply to them.

Maybe try Chicago or WUSTL or Cornell.

It will help if you have some achievement that is extra curricular. Any awards in math team?

Top 10 schools want to know what you will you contribute to make their community better? And what you have achieved outside of class?

You may not have solved world hunger but your EC’s listed are pretty good, and your grades and test scores are excellent. Have a good mix of reaches, matches, and safeties, and you will be fine. Write your essays and tell your story with confidence as you are certainly competitive at any school. Good luck.

The most concerning part is not being able to afford the colleges you’re applying to.

Make sure you have match schools and safeties with a strong math program, that you would like to attend, and can afford going to without patent or Cosigned loans.

Based on your clasees and interests ID apply to Northwestern (special math track) and Harvey Mudd (engineering with liberal arts), and if you live in California UCSB CCS.

You’ve noted some variety in courses, but the ECs don’t shout what direction. Tell us more?

If you’re thinking math, anything besides math team. And you’d benefit from taking a look at your comm service, seeing if any patterns emerge. I wonder if you’re omitting anything, thinking it doesn’t count.
