Advanced Degree Options with Agricultural and Applied Economics Major?

Hello, I will be attending college next year and am still trying to decide what to study. I’m from a pretty rural backround and live in a very rural and agricultural state so Ag and and Applied Econ is currently my front runner. I am wondering, though, if I do recieve a bachelor’s in A&A Econ is it reasonable to think that if then wanted to attend graduate school I could be accepted into a different, althought related, field of study such as growth or development Econ, Industrial Econ or Economic History should I decide to different dircetion, or would any advance degree study be confined to the Agricultural section of college?

As long as you took enough economics classes and could justify your interest with some background (maybe an independent study, research project, summer research experience, etc.), then sure. Most graduate committees accept that students may not have known 100% what they wanted to study when they were in college, and will allow for a bit of wiggle room. This is especially true for very closely related areas - like development econ or industrial econ.
