<p>Would taking the standard 2 year university theory sequence set myself up for further studies on my own? Or are the more advanced theory topics not suitable for self-study?</p>
<p>And, what about jazz improvisation? There is a 4 quarter sequence in jazz improvisation. I don’t really know what this sort of course would entail and how it would figure in a course vs. self-study question.</p>
