Advantage of being a Recrutied Athlete?

Hey, i’ve been put on Coach Ireland’s 2008 800 meter recruit list for track and i want to know how much this will help me in the admission process.

Right now I’m a junior and here are some quick academic/e.c. stats about me
SAT=2110
By the end of senior year i will have taken 10 AP classes (have passed 2 with 5’s, 2 with 4’s and 2 3’s and i kinda got a 2 on the stupid chemsitry exam) took several online courses
5.00 weighted gpa
3.7 unweighted
ranked 4th out of 500
haven’t taken the Sat 2’s but i’d imagine each one being around 700 each
Member of 5 clubs including Key Club, N.H.S(V.P.), F.C.A., National History Honors Society, and the Running Club (Founder and president)
i have 7 Varsity letters (3 track, 3 cross country and 1 soccer)
Hs had the same job at a Country Club for a year and a half
Captain of the Cross country team my jr. year

So in counclusion guys, how much will being a recruited athlete help my chances?? thanks for your time…

Apply early and you’re in. Keep working hard and you’ll do fine.

What’s your 800 time?

What’s your 800 time? I used to run track for Yale and it will give me a sense of where Ireland might put you on the list.

you have a pretty good chance as long as you don’t screw up your grades or app. Applying early will be a wise choice. if you can raise that SAT score a little more, that would help you too.

my 800 pr is 1:56

Wow! That’s pretty awesome.
