Just found out that I can save more than $300/3 months for my mother’s prescription at the Costco! Can’t believe I didn’t use them earlier!
Thanks to CC posters!!!
@makemesmart - Did you find their prices on line (like on their app or using Good RX) or did you call?
I found their Rx prices on the Costco website.
I just called my doctor’s office and they’ve sent the Rx request into Costco. Thanks for helping me save some money, CCers!
@jym626 I like to buy their bag (5 lb?) of baby potatoes - like a tricolored mix. They are good roasted or boiled and then smashed and baked.
I cut those baby potatoes in half an pan-fry them in a little butter with salt and rosemary. Yummy!
I am having friends for dinner tomorrow who are lactose intolerant. Suggestions for foods? Probably making salmon. Thought about a standing rib roast but cant make my favorite yorkshire pudding
I am going to Costco later today or tomorrow which is why I asked for ideas. I’ll also ask on the random q’s thread
Their strawberries and other berries were abundant—good for your fruit salad!
What we had for dinner yesterday: tuna and salmon sushi with warm sake.
We buy frozen tuna and salmon from Costco. We then thaw on our “sushi day.” Wish Costco carries frozen yellowtail, my favorite. Sometimes, I prepare them Poke (Hawaiian) style with vegetables. Very simple to make, delicious and healthy.
Costco has these Grand Galette cookies now that they get every holiday season. Here’s picture from Amazon’s site (couldn’t find a photo on Costco site)

They’re so good! Not very sweet but just sweet enough, with a little touch of salt. They’re about 9 bucks and come in a tall tin. They’re great alone or dipped in coffee.
@jym626
Like @MaineLonghorn, I checked the proscription price on Costco website. It has brand/generic pricing a for 30-180 days. Very clear. I will have my mom’s dr send new prescriptions to Costco. We have been using CVS because it is closer and has longer hours. But I may just use the Costco home delivery services.
Re. Gluten-free side dish ideas from Costco: cocktail shrimp, lump crab meat, organic hummus/avocado.
@jym626
Sorry, lactose intolerant? and I was thinking of gluten! My bad.
@TiggerDad what sauce (if any) do you use for making poke? I have always thought you need fresh seafood for poke.
I hardly ever make something the same way. I’m very experimental with recipes, but the main ingredients for Poke are:
Soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes (or sriracha sauce), green onions, and sesame seeds
I like my version spicy, so I put more of red pepper flakes or sriracha sauce.
@TiggerDad sounds delicious!
I eat “Indian Hot” at Indian restaurant, lol. My motto has always been the spicier the better ?
I’m addicted to spicy food, I’m afraid. I hope I don’t develop a hole in my stomach at some point…
@patsmom i love those cookies! Unfortunately I can eat the whole tin. I love the touch of salt.
Weird- when I go on the Costco website it gives the names of the drugs and the shipping cost.
** OK I did a google search and stumbled into it
@TiggerDad are you able to handle the 2x Samyang Spicy Noodles? I’ll assume you have no issues with it… it’s waaaaay too hot for me. It’s fun watching all those Korean Samyang spicy noodle challenges on Youtube, and the vast majority who get humbled.
I had it once or twice, I believe. It gave me an upset stomach, if I remember it correctly. I don’t care for spicy for spicy’s sake, though. I like spicy in a balanced context. I liked ramen when I was younger but not any more.
