Advice Me

I just finished my first year and for second year if i take organic chemistry in summer and organic lab with regular courses is that any effect on my medical resume ?

Is that good idea to take second year organic chem in summer and physics with regular courses to maintain my G P A.
Please Advice Me.

Lots of students do this, and it usually works out great (as long as the Summer School is ACS-approved of course).

I had a good friend who tried taking OChem during the regular semester. When it appeared she was going to get a ‘B’ she dropped the course and retook it during the Summer. Not the preferred approach!

I hate to do this, but the word is “advise”. Advice is what is given, but the advice is usually given from an Advisor, that is advising you.

I imagined that the OP was saying “Advice me” the way Elaine on Seinfeld told her hairstylist to “Sauce me” (using tomato sauce to get a smell out of her hair).

^I see advice/advise used incorrectly on CC all the time. Not to mention their/there/they’re, yada yada yada (sorry, I couldn’t pass that up) ;).

So I won’t feel so bad about going OT; OP, go to the Premed Topics forum and use the Search function for ‘summer’, you’ll find many threads that discuss this topic.

Loose and Lose are big for using wrong as well.

how did this turn into a thread about Commonly Misused Words

Anyone planning on grad or medical school better brush up on their (they’re/there) spelling- attention to details shows on applications. Physician here. “medical resume”, oh, my. Premed I presume. Doubt they care when you take prerequisite courses. Consider the rest of your courses, your major (planning your schedule for those courses) and costs.

It seems English is your second language. You are going to have to work on your language skills to get that high GPA you want.

Another push for taking your question to the Pre-med forum (or do a search there as it’s a common question). There are places that do not like to see pre-req courses taken over the summer… Check with the experts over at Pre-med for the pros/cons.
