Advice on an Information Technology System (ITS) class

I’m getting ready to register for this upcoming spring semester. I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to research more on what kind of class I’ll be taking so I know what to expect. This means figuring out if the material is very hard or easy to learn on your own (this decides if I can take it online, or as a web hybrid, or need to take it in class).

So I’m asking any one that’s done any major who has taken an ITS class what they are like. I’m an accountant major and I’m required to take either this or a business class and I’m fonder of the ITS course. I haven’t taken one before though so I don’t know what to expect. Right now I have the only option to take it online, so I need to know if the material is hard or easy to do at home. If it is hard, then I’ll take it when an in-class option is available. Thanks in advance!

This is the description given on my college’s website: Students learn the basic concepts of decision support systems. Topics include: building and implementing a decision support system utilizing Microsoft Excel, scenario management, what-if analysis, and the use of the Excel Solver tool. Heavy emphasis is placed on using decision support systems for business decisions. Business application development techniques are applied to aid in the development of complex decision support systems.

Also,
I’m new to these forums and from what I saw it doesn’t seem there are “class” or “subject” help sections so I decided to post on the Cafe because it looks like a general forum. If you know where I should post this, redirect me and I will delete and re-post there.
