I took the essay in October and I had the prompt, should young people be required to do community service. I didn’t know what topics to write about so I talked about community service and Chris brown… Do you think they will dock me for writing about a celebrity?

As far as I know, they don’t really care what you write about. As long as it’s in persuasive essay format and you’re defending your point without getting off topic, I think you’re fine.

A 12 writer could talk about My Little Pony and still get a 12, while a lackluster writer could write about MLK/Gandhi/Shakespeare and still get a low score.

It’s all about the substance, not the style.
