Advice on how to start a blog

Hello fellow CC members

Long time lurker and very appreciative of all the advice, points of view AND laughs that you all have provided over the years.

I am thinking of starting a blog…but just not sure where to begin. Any ideas on how I can get this thing started? I’m not looking to make money…I just want to blog, as I expensively as possible.

There are lots of free websites if you want to start a blog. One I like to use for websites that you can also use for blogs is at ■■■■■■■■■■ - if you don’t care if weebly is in the URL and if you get the free version of weebly (there’s also a pro version with more bells and whistles) then there would be no cost.

I was going to suggest Wordpress. Not sure how it compares to Weebly

Just an FYI, if it is meant for readers outside of the US, Wordpress is blocked in some countries. D chose Tumblr for that reason for her blog.

Wow, I hadn’t really thought that far. Probably not. That is something to consider though. Thanks @BunsenBurner‌

OP, Did you start your blog?

No I haven’t, still figuring out where I which website I want to use. Weebly and wordpress look great. I can be incredibly indecisive. I can’t say that I know a whole hell of a lot about blogs. I’m even considering Tumblr.

Does the website matter? I can’t say as I don’t read too many blogs…I do know that some blog layouts are nicer than others
