Alright so I’m on the verge of registering for a summer Physics I class so I can take AP Physics II during school next year, My teacher recommended to me a good program at a college near me, and the class runs for around 5 weeks, which seems to be the usual amount, The only problem is that the class overlaps with my time at a Tennis Academy at Florida… The class goes till August 3rd, Whereas I have to leave on July 19th, I can pull off leaving till the 30th, but that’s about as far as I can take it.

My question is, if I miss parts of this class, and I know beforehand that I am going to miss them, Could the professor give me the material for the days I’ll miss beforehand, and could I take the final exam or whatever beforehand? Dumb questions I know, but I’m not really too sure on this since this is my first summer class, and it’s a tightly scheduled summer for me this year.

Any help would be appreciated since my guidance counselor is absolutely no help at all, and I can’t get in touch with the teacher of the class until tommorow…

I think you will have to ask the professor for the class, no one out here can answer that question. Probably your biggest issue is taking the final exam, as you have noted. For good reason, many profs do not like to give the exam ahead of time because they either have to create a separate version, or trust you not to leak what is on it to your peers. I would guess there is no way you can leave as early as July 19 and still get credit/complete the work. But you might be able to get the prof to let you miss the last 3 days (that is what it is by this year’s calendar) – really 2 days and the final. But this is entirely at the prof’s discretion. When you say “teacher”, I assume you mean your high school teacher. But you have to talk to whoever is teaching the class.

Precisely. We’re not psychics here, and you haven’t even given us the name of this particular college.

If this is a regular college summer course, I would lean to “yes” for missing the last several days, if it was pre-arranged and such. But again, you must ask that specific prof.
