involved in student goverment, started local women’s and children health awareness programs, published two papers on lung cancer, published poetry, work on newspaper and literary magazine.</p>
<p>Want to transfer because: There aren’t any nearby research centers, so I’m VERY LIMITED in what I can do during the year, and I want to do research throughout the year as well as during the summer. Also, I’m not happy with the size or location of Rider. I want to be able to take more advanced biology classes, and I want more variety in biology electives. Above all else, I’d like be be around students who are more my equals intellectually. The people here are nice and what not, but I’m not stimulated.</p>
<p>Reason for disparity b/w HS and college: During Senior year, I volunteered at a hospital and encountered a lot of cancer patients. I was inspired to want to do stuff about cancer. In order to really be productive, and get access to labs and stuff, I would need better grades, and so I worked a lot harder. I also wanted to be able to spread awareness of cancer and health issues, so I worked tirelessly on activism related to that.</p>
