Advice

Hey, I’m a first year T.A. in a Masters program. When I was an undergraduate my T.A.'s and Professors always reminded us of the teaching awards and suggested if they were doing a good job and if we had time to perhaps nominate them. I did this with the groups that I am in charge of but I feel as if I have acted unethically and selfishly since the other T.A.'s did not know about the award.

I am thinking about withdrawing from the nomination and have emailed my coordinator apologizing for this, because I feel really bad. I acted out of previous experience and feel like I am unethical.

Can someone advice me?

You might try posting this in the Grad School Forum. Lots of current and former TAs there!

I don’t see the problem. If you told the students to nominate you or else get a bad grade, then that is unethical. You are just telling them to nominate you if they feel you are good at your job.
