Advice?

So, NU is my dream school. Trouble is, it’s not my parents’ dream school. They hate the idea of my going to Northwestern. Mostly because it’s too far and they’re too protective, and slightly because my financial aid isn’t great. But I believe I’d get a really great (journalism) education at NU, and I know that it’s exactly where I want to be.

Without whining about “It’s my life!” (because it’s their financial lives, too), what do I tell them to sell them on NU? Any hints, tricks, or advice at all?

Tell them that it isn’t their decision, and if you’re not going to go to NU then you’ll just end up failing out of wherever your parents want you to go.

How much extra would you be paying for NU?
