Hey Guys.

So I’m currently a first year Engineering student at UBC and I just failed all of my classes due to a number of reasons; namely the excessive partying and socializing. I am really ashamed of it and I have no idea how to tell my parents or what I should do next. I am thinking about transferring to International Relations Programs as that’s what I actually like to do (Engineering was my dad’s choice for me. So I just hated the whole thing) but seeing that I have failed my first term here, I don’t know if I could still transfer. My parents are pretty asian so if they hear that I failed all my classes they’ll be really pissed off. Advises on what I should do now?

P.S.: I’m not getting kicked out just yet, UBC doesn’t kick students out for failing 1 term, meaning if I do well next term and my average is above 50%, I can still pass. The problem is to convince my parents to allow me a second chance…
