Advising at orientation

My son is a direct admit to Kelly and also in the Hutton Honors College. It looks like his orientation is all with Hutton including advising. Is this always the way it is, and are they able to help as well as someone from Kelly? I find the Kelly school to be the number 1 reason he is going to school, and don’t want him to miss out on information he would get if he had a business advisor during orientation instead of Hutton Honors. Do they maybe have both available during this time?

At this time, since he is already a Kelley DA, he will be taking the same class as all other Kelley DA’s or hopefuls. The advisor at orientation simply suggests classes to take and isn’t there when your son actually schedules, so he can take whichever classes he needs for icore pre reqs. I’m sure Hutton has good advisors, and so early on I’m not sure it matters who it is. If you need any help on classes for your son, feel free to ask. I took K201, A100, X104, and X220 all this past year and did very well.

He will go to Hutton for his individual advising session, where there will be both a Kelley and Hutton adviser for him to speak to.
