Aerospace and Mechanical program

I’m currently a junior in high school and UF is my top choice as a university to attend. I’ve read that UF has a top notch engineering program, but what do you think about the aerospace/mechanical program? Internship and job opportunities, the professors, and really just anything you know about the program. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Also, I’d like to hear an evaluation of the following two posts from [url=http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/engineering-majors/486826-univsity-florida-vs-ga-tech-vs-michigan.html]this thread/url:

Thanks, and hopefully I can be a Gator this time next year! :)

ok so i got into UF and im planning on doing mechanical, your post just scared the **** out of me. can anyone please give their input? any UF staudents currently in the MAE program?

Just wanted to mention…I’ma hiring manager for a major aerospace company and UF mechancial engineering grads are considered second-to-none. I wouldn’t worry too much about random negative posts…you find them everywhere.

UF Engineering is ranked 24th overall. Up two spots from last year, and is getting better and better as the years go by.

I’ve only taken one engineering class so far and the professor is pretty good. Well see how it goes this fall when I take 2-3 more engineering classes.
