How are relations between aerospace companies such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Rolls Royce, etc. With Rutgers NB’s engineering program in terms of placement internships and co-ops.
Thanks in Advance

Pretty strong with Lockheed. I can think of 4 friends of mine in my graduating class at RU that got their BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering and had internships and/or received offers before graduation.

Rutgers is a “target” school for Lockheed. We have 26 “key” schools for recruitment and about 50 “target” schools…Rutgers is in the second group.

Rogracer, how much of a difference is there between key and target schools? Do the key school students have a chance of being hired?

Key schools are those which we devote most of the recruitment resources to sponsorship of engineering competitions like the DARPA Challenge or Formula SAE . direct interaction with students, professors, and engineering societies hosting dinners and so forth. This allows us to get to know the students and we can directly see how they function in teaming environments. Target schools are schools we recruit at, but generally we do not become as deeply involved. We hire from all these schools and we hire regularly from outside these schools as well, but students will have to take more initiative if they desire internships or employment.

Thanks, rogracer, that is a great clarification.
