Aerospace major transferred from 4 year to CCC planning to TAG UCI for 2027 admission; am I eligible?

See page 36 of https://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/_files/documents/quick-reference-guide-to-uc-admissions.pdf

UC doesn’t care what credit your CCC gives for the classes you took at your 4-year. UC will require a transcript from that school and will independently decide what transfers. They don’t evaluate in advance but if you were taking academic classes (eg. not a “Welcome to the big U” class) you’ll likely get UC credit. For your CCC you can look at ASSIST to see what credit you will receive.

UC will total up the units from the previous paragraph and also the credit given for your AP exams. Assuming both the following are true

  • your 4-year was not a UC campus
  • all the classes you took at the 4-year were lower division

then if the number is greater than 70 semester units they cap the units you get when you enter UC at 70. The 80 unit limit does not come into play, it only applies if one or both of the conditions are not true. You will get subject credit for everything you took so that can be used to satisfy either your major or breadth requirements.
