Ignoring my chances to get in, I’d just like to see which engineering schools would be considered the best out of these choices. This order should not be based on how hard it is to get in, but rather the strength of their engineering program.
This is how I would order it:
Stanford
Carnegie Mellon
Berkeley
Columbia
UCLA
Princeton
Wisconsin - Madison
Minnesota - Twin Cities
Would you agree on this order?
Also, I am looking to get a single dorm. While I enjoy social activities, I need my alone time. Yes, I have heard this could “kill” my social/college experience but I could leave my door open and still have social time. I also intend on being in an intramural and other academic clubs. I know Columbia has single dorms, but Carnegie Mellon does not have many.
