I am currently a freshman at saddleback community college. My first semester I received straight A’s. I am now in my second semester and I withdrew from an 8 week course because I realized it was not going to work out. I am on track to finish up by next summer. I want to transfer to cal state fullerton. Will that W affect my chances of being accepted? It is non related to my major.
One W isn’t going to hurt you. On the other hand, transcripts with a number of Ws or other non A/B/C/D grades are red flags for transcript evaluators.
Agree with Alf, but also think if you keep up your As that it won’t matter. I got into Fullerton with probably 12 Ws, but they were from my first attempt at college like 10 years ago. Just avoid anything you can like Cs and Ws, but working hard and earning As is an accomplishment that outshines a W. Keep it up.
