“Do you want to save on costs, or do you want to save on convenience?”

Another lie by our commander-in-chief. I don’t have that choice in the individual market. There is only one plan with varying amounts of deductibles and very limited networks. I have two insurance companies to choose from with very little difference in prices and with networks that are bad and worse than bad. The amount of dissembling by our leaders is deplorable.

In my region, there are many specialists who won’t participate. Also, the provider network on their website is totally flawed. The only way to know if a doctor is in the network is by calling them. They are better than Blue Shield’s network which is a total joke.

Also, no more Blue Card nationwide network.

The system is so screwed up. How can one defend that currently if you belong to a group plan or are grandfathered you are able to access a much wider network than a person stuck in the individual market. That’s BS.

Are there any ‘average families’ saving that $2500 per year we were promised? And I mean saving, I don’t mean passing off the premium costs to taxpayers.

GP, There are going to be specialists not included in a network unless it is mandated by the govt that every specialist is included.

What is your plan that you have now? How much is it a month? Who is the insurance carrier? Is every specialist in your region covered in your plan? How big is your deductible? Your out of pocket max? Is Avastin covered? Is Gild’s drug? Is Generess Fe covered? What tier?

What kind of tax break do you get?

Are we talking absolute truth? If what Obama said is false, then everything you said is false. I have a great network so when when you complain about networks that is false.

If you complain that health care insurance is too expensive and over half the new sign ups pay nothing or close to nothing, another 30 to 40 percent also are subsidized, what you said is false. Health insurance isnt too expensive.

Bluebayou said a long time ago what Obama just admitted. Are you calling Bluebayou a liar?

You have said nothing that has contradicted any of what I said.

Unlike you, I belong to a plan that covers non-formulary drugs. You have a closed formulary plan. I can go just about anywhere in the US; you can’t. You have no idea if your network is great. The anthem provider tool is seriously broken. You won’t really know until you get sick. There are many specialists in your region and outside your region who don’t belong to your plan. Anyone in a group plan or is grandfathered has a much better network than you. Too bad because as an unsubsidized payer you are getting totally screwed.

People in the individual market have NO CHOICE. Obama is implying they do, which is BS.

It’s saving my family much more than $2500. You wouldn’t want what brought us to that bennie. That’s the thing: too many want what they want, can’t see further.

Flossy, those bullets don’t “surprise” me, didn’t when the first ACA thread started. I said, this is like turning a mighty big ship around in the water.

And, I recall one of my first interesting lessons as a young kid was that when someone says “you,” it doesn’t always mean me and mine.

GP, I am not screwed. All my family’s doctors take Anthem. If I have to pay more so others can get insurance that is fine with me. Better for society. I do not live here alone. I am only temporary too.

There are small group plans that do not have big networks. Kaiser is pretty big in Calif.

No choice? I have a choice. Sorry to read that you have no choice.

The network situation is going to continue to evolve.

Why are you so evasive with your answers to my questions?

How was I evasive? I have a group plan with Blue Shield with the grandfathered shield spectrum network. It practically includes almost everyone in Ca. and most providers across the country.

I, too, have a plan that covers widely. I’ve given examples relevant to us and our region. Through the exchange. Your own problem, GP, is within California. You really can’t extrapolate from that to all of us. You can complain to your regulators, take that energy there.

Tatum is absolutely correct. The $2,500 savings in premiums was the AVERAGE savings for a typical family. It was not supposed to be because of taxpayer subsidies but it was supposedly going to happen because of increased competition and greater demand.

dstark, I got to hand it to you. Being happy about having a much inferior plan for a lot more money because of Obamacare is either a very noble intention or… I’ll let other people fill in the blank.

I would be careful with the $2500 claim GP. A family’s net cost includes subsidies. The $2500 savings was based on when the plans take effect. They werent comparing 2013 prices with 2014 prices.

If I have a mortgage that costs me $30,000 a year in interest, but I get to write off the interest at a 33 percent rate, the true cost is $20,000. You are in the tax business. You know this.

We share this time GP. Then we go poof. ;)

One thing that I think is amazing (from CF’s link) is how few have individual health insurance over a calendar year. 5.1 million.
