Affordable colleges in northern california?

Southern California weather is getting ridiculous and the price of living out here is awful. I’m looking for a college town up in northern california where is cold. I love colder weather and I love snow. Looking for somewhere in a rural area that is relatively cheaper. I’d love to move to a little mountain town if I could. Will have to do research on the college I find to see if it had a good program but that’s what I’m looking for. Any sugguestions? Any csus like that?

What major(s) are you looking for?

How cold is cold for you?

CSUs in Humboldt, Chico, Sacramento, and Sonoma are the northernmost ones. However, most of California, including those places, only gets cold in December to February.

Some other CSUs near the ocean, like San Francisco and Monterey Bay, do not get as cold, but also do not get as hot.

California is expensive in general, maybe try another state.

Look into Central Washington University in Ellensburg. Cold, rural, and with WUE tuition break costs the same as a CSU. Northern Arizona U. in Flagstaff and Nevada-Reno may also work for you.
