Hey,
I am extremely afraid of Snakes and Lizards and a few other reptiles, but not as much as snakes.
Would i frequently encounter such evil creatures often at schools like UMiami, FSU, SMU or UT Austin ? Or any southern school for that matter.
Thanks.

im not an expert on the animals of the south, but i would assume that there is a higher chance of encountering one of those in the south just because of the warmer climate. But that doesnt mean you will or that anything bad would happen from an encounter.

Lizards yes. Snakes maybe but probably not.

Lizards, definitely. Those cute little beasts are common in the areas that you mention.
Snakes – unlikely.

It’s almost definite that you will be attacked by an Alligake if you attend any of those schools. Beware the freakish hybrid.

In all seriousness, I don’t think you’ll have to worry too much on a college campus.

ok thanks for the replies!

If you are at an urban campus, snakes won’t be much of a problem.

Definitely lizards outdoors, but as Northstarmom said, they’re cute and nothing at all to be afraid of.

In the south, as long as you’re not going out into the woods and reaching into gopher turtle burrows with your bare arm your chances of even seeing a dangerous snake are very poor.

The small lizards you may see are beneficial and completely harmless creatures. They are only interested in finding the next bug to eat, a mate, safety from predators and a warm place in the sun.
