AFROTC Scholarship--Am I behind!?

I am taking my first ACT test in two days, June 11, and I am wondering if I am way behind in the process for filling out my application. I am going to be a senior in August and the application deadline is December 1.
Am I behind?
Will I have timever to take another ACT test if this one doesn’t show good results?
If so, can I fill out another application with my new score then meaning I have two submitted applications?
Does AFROTC superscore?
Does turning in my application as soon as possible give me the best chance at a scholarship?
When do the boards meet?
I’m nervous that I looked into this program too late and won’t have a chance at it. Thank you for taking this time to read my thread and help me!!

Did you go review the AFROTC website?
Here is the link. https://www.afrotc.com/scholarships

ACT will be offered in Sept & Oct.

Yeah I’ve read the whole thing

If you have read the website, I am confused on what you are asking.

The website says the application process was opened on 1 Jun. It says
"… After you complete the online application, you will receive a confirmation email with information on how to download, electronically complete and submit/upload the following forms, which must be uploaded by January 12, 2017, at midnight CST:

Per the website, you will need to submit various forms which will need to be received (uploaded) by 12 Jan 2017. I would not wait that long. The 1 Dec deadline is the last day you can start the initial process.

It takes about 2+ weeks to get your ACT score. When you take the ACT you have 4 free college/agencies you can submit your scores to. If you don’t or have more than 4 to submit you can pay the extra amount later. Since you have time, you could hold off on submitting your Jun score and see how a retake (like 10Sept or 22Oct) scores out. Yes, you would have to pay the extra to have scores sent.

Some big questions/comments for you.

  • Do you know what you want to major in? You will be meeting the “needs of the Air Force”. So to increase your chances of receiving a AFROTC scholarship, you have to be willing to major in a field that they need. (per website). Just so you know, if you DID get a scholarship and decided to change your major you could lose your scholarship. So think carefully.
  • You do know you have to serve, right? Not a 40 hour work week. You are an officer first which is why they will review your EC list for leadership and character.
  • You still have to be accepted at an approved university degree program. So this fall when you are doing this paperwork you will also be filling out applications to universities. The website lists universities.
  • Do you know if you are academically competitive? Website says min GPA of 3.0 but to be competitive it needs to be 3.76+, Min ACT is 26 but to be competitive 29.6+
