After meeting with admin officer at EHS..

I asked my sources over there and they said that it’s not true. Assuming you only include the Ivies +SM, a “top colleges,” this year alone kids went to Stamford, Cornell, and Penn; none of them legacies or athletes. Of course some of the EHS ivy kids are leagues/athletes; but that’s no different from any other boarding school–it’s a mix. College placement at EHS often looks unimpressive to Northerners because the kids from NC and SC don’t grow up in the same culture stressing the importance of “named” colleges that we have in New England. They have a different set of schools on their radar. Apparently EHS kids do win the top scholarships to Chapel Hill and UVA.
