I applied to UIUC at the end of September… and i recently won an award for the amount of service hours i’ve done (Cook County Sheriff’s Youth Service Medal of Honor), i also became a Precinct Captain for the Illinois Green Party, and started a new job.

Is there any way to relay that information to admissions counselors?
Or, more importantly;
is it really worth it / will it really make a difference?

You can simply write a letter to the admissions office describing the new information and asking that the letter be put in your application file. What you describe is generally of minor importance for freshman admission .

Another question along this line: there was no way on the online application to list the date of the SAT to be taken in the future, eg, test in October when applying in September. The SATs taken in the past are entered, but not the future. The October score report will go to UIUC - will they wait for it and use it though? or does a letter need to be written informing UIUC of this?
