After you graduate UCLA?

I was just wondering…say that you graduate from UCLA, could you move to New york and get a job on Broadway? Or do you have to stay in LA? Would it be better to go to school in New York or the Boston Conservatory to get a job on Broadway?

Thank you! :)

To get on Broadway, which is EXTREMELY rare, it doesn’t matter where your college is located. When people graduate from theater and MT programs, if they want to audition in NYC, which is where Broadway and many other theater productions hold auditions, they move to NYC. It doesn’t matter if you went to UCLA, a school in NYC, or BOCO, in this regard, or any school. It will come down to your audition.

Further, my suggestion is to revise one’s goals to be something like “become a working actor” because if your goal is just to be on Broadway (nothing wrong with reaching high of course), realistically, very few will end up doing that and it is a very narrow definition of success (or goals) for those going into this field.
