Age

How much of a factor is age when applying to Yale? I skipped a grade and I will graduate at 16. Does Yale see this as a big plus or should I not mention it in my application?

Your admission officer will be able to tell based on your birthdate and the fact that you’re a senior. Don’t mention it unless skipping a grade had a major effect on you (“I learned to become more mature, blah, blah, blah”).

Eh… skipping a grade doesn’t come across as that big of an accomplishment IMO. I mean… there are so many people applying to Yale, Harvard, etc who could have very easily done the same thing if their parents wanted them too. Especially in the worthless grades that are K-5.

I would say mention it if you want… but 1. I don’t see it helping out that much, and 2. I kind of agree with kayabertz (only mention if it affected you in a substantial way).
