that’s all i can think of now.

chance?? thanks!

also, when people chance do they do match, safety, reach? or… well idk im not good at this (:

I’ll post my chancing later, but skimming through it, it seems like you have great EC’s. So that’s good :D

Great ECs? Their mediocre.

thanks chowazmein!

meteman- would you care to explain?

Very little initiative.

i’m still not understanding what you’re saying.

are they mediocre because im not invovled in everything in my school?

which btw is nothing, nor is there anything in the surrounding neighborhoods

EDIT: i cant edit my original post, but buildon is a global (or national, not sure) organization that seeks to improve humanity through various things like vol. in the community, clothing/food drives, and helping overseas. each year we take a trip to another country to build a school (well to help, then the native people send us pictures later of what it looks like finished)

CPU, this is soo creepy…I was also varsity track and got injured, and also president of chinese club! Omg!

that really is crazy! i think it’s a sign

not to hiijack, but what event?

long jump, 100m, 200m, 55m, 300m (indoor and out)

thats a lot…i was a pole vaulter!

i always wanted to do that!

but i can’t find your posts to find your chance? post it on the 2012 thread…

and everyone else, feel free to chance!

I think counseling people with disabilities will look good as an EC, so no, they don’t appear to be mediocre. That’s just my opinion though.

And of course i’d try raising your SAT’s a bit, as you said 2100+ is a good goal. To be honest Yale and MIT are very far reaches so I wouldn’t put all my eggs into one basket if I were you.

Your GPA seems fine. Then again I don’t know those schools very well. Just offering some general feedback.

thanks for being thorough mistervert!

yeah imo, half of my list are reaches or high matches (still hope)’
that’s why im applying to MIT EA, that is one of my favorite schools.

i dont want to take the SATs again if i score well on the ACT, but if i have to, i will definitely break 2100 this time! (:

i heard that schools recalculate your GPA based on their own system, so the HS one is only relative. but i have all As an A+ so i think it should play out well anyways.

so nervous =/

but thanks again! it’s good to have honest feedback

For the Ivies definitely high reach. You don’t stand out at all, and the standardized test scores are rather low. For the other ones, decent shot/match.

Thanks for the honesty ^
there’s only one ivy (Yale) do you mean MIT as well? What other schools are you classifying with that?

I think Mathboy means Ivies in general

Okay…Before looking at my chancings, I want to let you know that this is my first chancings…ever. So, my chancings may be inaccurate. This is just what I think.

So here are my chancings:
rutgers - make
neu - reachable
umass - make
bu - probably make
barnard - reachable
wellesley - reachable
MIT - high reach
Yale - high reach
RPI - reachable

Overall, just increase your SAT scores to 2100+ and you’ll be good for SAT.

What it ultimately boils down to is your essays. I would suggest you to work a lot on your essays and just show the college admissions officers who you are.

I hope I don’t discourage you from applying from any of those you want to go for, because who knows? Maybe you might make all of them. :D

Yeah, I’m classifying MIT as an Ivy. In general (especially for MIT/Yale), if you had a mind-blowing essay or a focused EC, you would have a way better shot.

Chance me?

Mit, Yale reaches.
The rest match.
