I applied online to La Salle University, and it didn’t ask me for a letter of recommendation or my SAT scores. It also won’t give me any form for a letter of recommendation or my school report…

I’m currently working on an online application to Simmons College, and it’s the same deal.

Well… doubtful voice you probably didn’t screw up if you sent in everything the colleges required. HOWEVER, are you very sure that they didn’t ask for those things…?

OK, I’m researching…

On La Salle’s profile on College Board, it says that recommendations are “considered.” On Simmons’ profile, it says that recommendations are an “important admissions factor.”

Both La Salle and Simmons DO require SAT scores. You have to send those by way of College Board, so I wouldn’t expect the application to have a place that says “Put SAT Scores Here.” Have you read the instructions on how to apply?

Here’s from their website…:

Are you applying with the Common App? Teacher recommendations, school reports, etc., are parts of the Common App. You should be able to get the forms somewhere…

It is looking like you screwed up. But try to get the required stuff in ASAP… if you can… when is the deadline? If you’re applying for fall 2008 admission, then you shouldn’t be worrying…

I’m sorry, I’m kind of confused about this. It’s June. Nobody applies to college in June…

not a good idea, btw, in your rush , you may have made mistakes, and some things you do this summer could have been included

slow down already, they aren’t even going to look at anything, they need OFFICIAL transcripts etc, something you do not have

is your school open to send them out? what about recommendations?

Did you have proof anything for typos, did you verify all your information?

STOP

catch your breath, and do NOT send in another application until you have read each site and made sure you are doing it properlly, take some time and make some lists, etc

anxious? just a tad, and while that is laudible, the mistakes you can make in your rush, can make your application look sloppy and incomplete

I think it wll., there is time to get the rest of the stuff in, they know that recommedations, scores etc come in at different times, so if you really like LaSalle, then you can make it work,

Listen, like others have said, different parts of you application can straggle in at different times–and it doesn’t matter, as long as everything makes it in by the deadline. They most likely won’t even start looking at any applications until the deadline has passed, so it won’t matter at all when or in which order your stuff has arrived. (As long as it’s before the deadline. And the deadline isn’t until January 2008, probably.)

They’re also right in saying that if you rushed, the material that you have sent in might appear slapdash and incomplete. But even if it does, you can STILL wait for the letter of rec forms, wait for your SAT scores (or go to College Board now and send them), and submit the missing pieces–all in good time. You have, like, 5 months, probably. And the worst that can happen is that La Salle rejects you. That’s just one college, and it doesn’t affect your chances of getting into any of the other colleges you’re going to apply to. And depending on your letters of rec, your SATs, and your transcript, you could very well get accepted anyway. And if they’re still missing a part of your application, they’ll probably contact you and let you know. Colleges offered me extensions on the deadline, because I had submitted some materials but then decided not to apply and so didn’t submit the remaining material. But you don’t even have to worry about that, since you’re so early.

Please, Colodia, CALM DOWN, and trust us. All is not lost.
