Ah! Quick advice before I send...

I’m sending my Common Application to Stanford tonight for SCEA. However, before I do so, I want to ask: how does Stanford want the essay? Right now, it is 1.5 spaced and is about one and a half pages long. However, on the website, it says that the essay shouldn’t exceed the “given space”, which as they specify is approximately one page long. The problem is, even single-spaced, I go over 1 page just a little because I added my topic of choice prompt at the top, which pushes my essay down. What should I do?? =</p>

stop worrying - just send it in. They just don’t want to read tomes.

Don’t you select your prompt choice somewhere else? I don’t know if it’s necessary to put it at the top of your essay, unless you actually wrote a prompt. In which case–are we supposed to write a prompt?

Well, if it’s a topic of choice, people recommend that you create a prompt as to give your essay some kind of focus…

if it’s topic of choice, it’s your choice whether or not you actually make up a prompt. If it only goes over a little, don’t sweat it. The app process is not so mechanical and strict.

change the margins
