<p>A longer version of my commonapp essay? I submitted my common app essay online and shortened it so it would meet the word limit BUT I really like my original longer essay that I have been working on since summer started. The essay is about my Grandma and on one story about herself that she told me. This longer version is around 3 A4 pages…I feel that it adds a more personal touch to the essay.
PS I am a Chinese Canadain living in Asia for half of my life, and is currently studying in China at a private school that has like 2 English speaking teachers??( so essays could be my strength in this Asian applicant pool?).</p>
<p>3 or 4 pages is too long even for a longer essay. I had a long essay but that was 2 page long.</p>
<p>They won’t read it all even if you do. You should post a request for people willing to help you shorten it, while keeping the good points intact.</p>
<p>Send it in as a supplemental piece.</p>
