AICE Business 2 or nah

I have this opportunity at my school where I can take a 2nd year of business class which will involve me taking another AICE Exam( AICE is like AP) that would get me even more credits to put towards college. The only issue is that exam is in December and for the rest of the year we are supposed to basically be the teachers assitant and we’re supposed to basically teach the kids how to do the content we did last year. You also have to go over stuff in front of the entire class and I don’t know if I’m ready for that. I might have to do that on a daily or weekly basis which I find very nerve racking. I’m a junior this coming year, and I’m interested in business for my future but to teach other kids about business doesn’t sound like my forte, and there’s no way I can take that exam without having to do the teaching part in the 2nd half of the year. Should I do it??! Or nah??!

Even though you might ace the test do you know how your college your interested in actually utilizes the test score. Business isn’t part of most general education requirements so it might only count as a free elective. If you are going to college for something in the business school it could count but as what? My daughter is doing dual enrollment and is interested in business. Most schools she has looked act will give her credits towards the business department requirements for intro to business and business law but not every business class she can take would count as a specific class and the free electives don’t help much. I would take the class if your interested in it for itself. If your only interested in it helping for college do research on it.

I’m not familiar with AICE. For dual enrollment classes here are some that have been highly recommended for my daughter which most schools she has spoken to said will either get credit or be beneficial to take include:

Intro to Business
Business Law
Micro economics
Macro economics
Principles of Accounting (name varies) and it may not count as credit but allow a student to start at a higher level
Intro to Management
Intro to Marketing
Intro to Sociology (not business but required by many business departments)
calculus
