Aid Estimates - include work study?

^I figured that Odyssey was not factored into my estimate since it appeared relatively low considering that I come from a $40,000 background.

I emailed the admissions office and they said that the Odyssey scholarship does not appear on the estimate, but I am still unclear on whether every low income applicant gets one or not and whether it covers all of the projected loans or not.

This might help from the Odyssey webpage:

[The University of Chicago - Odyssey Scholarship Challenge](http://odyssey.uchicago.edu/scholarships/index.html)

That’s great news, that means the majority of my loans will probably be replaced by the scholarship! I am still a bit worried that I might have to settle for a place that I don’t like as much if they have superior fin aid.

The memo we got with our FA package explicitly said that Odyssey awards are not included in the preliminary estimate and will be awarded in April. Presumably they want to see 2009 tax info to make sure income meets the qualifications.

Also- does this estimate not include pell grants? because I am pretty sure that I would be eligible for one. the preliminary aid estimate makes it seem as though i will have to take out a significant amount of loan money, but if it doesn’t include neither odyssey scholarships nor pell grants then my final package may end up much more generous.
