<p>Air quality is strongly tied to sunlight. Luckily, the intensity of sunlight in NYC isnt enough to really cause problems except for maybe a few days in the summer. (Sunlight -> photooxidation of organic aerosol -> more particulate matter in the air -> problems for asthmatics). [Source: phd work in air qual.]</p>
