<p>The epic showdown. Who will win???</p>
<p>Neither can win. Both have their ups and downs. The main problem with Airbus is that it is very dicentralized. Airbus is in fact 4 companies working together as one. Boeing is significantly more cohesive. The main problem with Boeing is that it too often sacrifices on quality and like most Engineering giants in the US, does not take care of its Engineers.</p>
<p>Airbus has a hopeless management structure and constant government interference. If the EU governments ever stop propping it up, it’s doomed. My prediction is that Airbus will continue its current fall until it mostly supplies heavily subsidized planes to a few US carriers and to EU carriers. Boeing will make money selling planes to everyone else. Boeing will end up 60% market share. I think stockholders in US carriers (who have very little other good news) should be eternally grateful to EU taxpayers who seem to be willing to forever subsidize Airbus’ production.</p>
<p>The Boeing engineers I know do not seem to be any less happy than any other engineers I’ve known (and where I live every household seems to have one Boeing employee or one Microsoft employee, or both). My wife works at Boeing (and I used to work at Microsoft, too).</p>
