<p>I wonder if the SW cheap fares end tonight?? Trying to put together son’s southwest college tour–haven’t nailed whether we should through in a trip to Rice, so that might impact plane planning…</p>

<p>Thank you, Marilyn! I’ve got a giant headache, now…trying to extract from my husband if he can take off time from work (he says: “we should just wait & see how things go.”). I don’t want to wait until March, even generally (outside of the SW fare sale) because I thought prices would go up closer to traditional Spring Break time. </p>
<p>I fear if we wait, we won’t be able to afford this southern trip. </p>

<p>Just paying it forward, Jolynne! After seeing this thread alert (THANK YOU CC :)), I spent the day yesterday nagging my husband and double checking flight prices that I had pulled earlier - it turned out about $100 cheaper and better times than I had found before so he finally gave the go-ahead! He thinks I’m such a worry-wart but it does pay off in the end. I also discovered that I got a better price (and flights) for DS on the way out by booking the two legs separately than as the one-two flights that SW showed (i.e., my A-B and B-C was better than what they showed for A-B-C). </p>
<p>Actually, I think DH just wanted to shut me up moaning and groaning about the terrible weather this winter! We had vague future plans to eventually possibly relocate to California; no idea with the new economy when those plans will get back on track. And we had two pipes burst last week, one of which we didn’t even know existed (although we will get a new carpet out of the insurance ;))…</p>
