Has anyone received an airfare tax refund? What are the dates for ticket purchase and actual travel that qualify for the refund?

I am not sure but my d who traveled in June & Aug & bought her ticket in march tells me she qualifies

I thought they said people would not get a refund. They backdated the taxes to the date the FAA shut down or something.

[IRS: No tax refunds for fliers, after all - USATODAY.com](http://travel.usatoday.com/flights/post/2011/08/irs-no-tax-refunds-for-fliers-after-all/414030/1)

It’s good that the tax will not be applied retroactively for those who purchased tickets during the shutdown.

As a reminder, those taxes won’t be applied to new tickets until Monday, so consider buying your tickets this weekend.

EK, thanks for the link.

Silly me, I should have known hell would freeze over before the gov would refund money. I am thankful I purchased tickets for 2 trips on July 24th and 25th. :)

Alaska Airlines just sent an email saying that tickets are still tax-free through this weekend.
