As I recall, Franken did not do the church lady, that was Dana Carvey.
I can’t help but think that Ted Kennedy is spinning in his grave about this Franken situation. I don’t mean to suggest that Al is as much of a chauvinist pig as Ted “I’ll drink to that” Kennedy, but ideologically, they were both pretty similar. Both were left-leaning liberals who genuinely cared about how policies affect the less fortunate.
I have unsubscribed from emails from a party that I wasn’t a member of anyway. Personally, I think Al Franken may have done some things that were inappropriate and wrong, but not resignation-worthy and I am deeply disappointed that a majority of his colleagues turned against him. To lump his behaviors into the same category with others who have commited actual crimes doesn’t help anyone.
