My favorite performance was as Ebeneezer Scrooge in the musical Scrooge! I thought he did a great job portraying both the young man Scrooge as well as the old bitter miser.

D2 loves him in Erin Brockovitch.

So sad to hear this! I was a huge fan of his. Tom Jones was on TCM this morning - I caught the last few minutes and said to myself that he was probably the greatest living screen actor who never received an Oscar (nominated 5 times).

I loved him in Scrooge! as well, @Nrdsb4, which is one of my favorite versions of A Christmas Story. But probably my favorite Finney performance was as Hercule Poirot in the 1970s version of Murder on the Orient Express. An amazing transformation. He’ll be missed.

Also an Albert Finney fan; Big Fish is one of my favorites. There seems to be something new to like about that movie every time I watch it.

So sad. I loved him in Erin Brokovitch. Such a talent.

Anyone who hasn’t seen Tom Jones ought to. He was the most gorgeous, genuinely charming young man. And the movie is great fun, everyone it it is marvelous. Remember the eating scene?! A wonderful actor. I’m going to have to seek out Big Fish, I’ve never seen it.

@Consolation, I just watched the trailer-it looks like a bawdy, raucous good time.
