I don’t won’t to start a political war, but I just want some opinions. Does anybody listen to this guy? I’m not going to say anything for sure, but he certainly has some VALID arguments.

Why shouldn’t we be paying income taxes? I’ve heard, in fact, that the United States has one of the lowest income taxes in the (first-)world… anyone know if this is true or just someone spouting?

So, am I just a really bad googler or what, 'cause all the results I’ve gotten have both “Alex Jones” and “income tax,” but not in relation to each other…

Okay, well, to give you a BRIEF overview of the 16th amendment controversy, the reason why Alex Jones thinks Americans shouldn’t be paying income taxes is because the amendment allowing for the feds to charge them was supposedly “fudged”. He and other conspiracy theorists believe that it wasn’t truly ratified properly and that the government just enacted it behind the public’s back. So, according to this “fudged amendment” theory, all income taxes would be null and void, and the United States Federal Government would owe tax payers since 1913 aloooooooot of mula (federal income tax, only). However, if trying to get this reviewed and overturned by either the legislature or judicial, the chances are SLIM TO NONE. I mean, what are the chances that those governing bodies are going to give up not only their funds to run their branches and pass laws, but their large paychecks? Not going to happen any time soon.
