What exactly is the deal with NYU and money? I’ve seen it ranked as one of the worst for financial aid packages. I know every applicant is automatically entered for a scholarship, but how much are they and what does one’s stats need to look like?
I am from small town Colorado, and will proably have a 4.0. My SAT’s are above average for NYU. What will I get?

I believe the financial aid packages are based primarily on income. I think stats matter more with merit scholarships, but they don’t award many of those.

i got a 20k scholarship, and 10k in loans, my sat was 1520, my gpa was 3.9, and my family income is 50k

What incomes? Are there any stats about median income and average aid?

Yeh, those stats were published in something that was sent to the NYU mailing list called “Parent’s News” or maybe there was a separate financial aid thing in the mail… Anyway, look through the stuff they sent you through the mail. It shows the amount of students in each income range and the average aid.

How much scholarship you will get will mostly depend on your income. There is no way to estimate something like that in a way that is 100% accurate, apply, and if you get in, take it from there.
