under CREATIVE PORTFOLIO SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Part 2. Leadership and Collaboration Anecdote - Leadership and collaboration are important ingredients for creating successful media projects. In three hundred words or less (no more than one page, double-spaced), describe an experience in which you exercised leadership and/or took part in a productive collaboration. We’re interested in both your insights into these issues and your ability to tell an engaging short story. (Save as a pdf and upload to tischfilmandtv.slideroom.com.)

Here it says ‘exercised leadership and/or took part in a productive collaboration’. What is productive collaboration? Should the experience be about some small film that you’ve produced or what? Those who are well informed please enlighten me.

help?

I’m really starting to wonder if the kids applying to Tisch know how to read/interpret the relatively simple language used in the Submission requirements. Forgive me, that was my rant for the day.

Productive collaboration is just what it sounds like, a group that comes together to produce a certain goal.

This section of the Creative Portfolio doesn’t need to be about a film, but it could be, if you have been involved in that activity. Filmmaking certainly requires collaboration. However, if you’ve not done that type of activity write about activities that YOU have participated in. Perhaps a team sport, or a school activity/project, anything that requires leadership and collaboration. Note what they say they’re interested in:
“We’re interested in both your insights into these issues and your ability to tell an engaging short story.”

They tell you exactly what they want. Start writing now and give yourself lots of time to change your idea, edit, re-edit, etc. Good luck!

thanks. i thought so. i got confused becoz they said productive collaboration. I thought it meant film production. NYU threads don’t get much traffic it seems.
PS: I forgive you.
