I got accepted to UCSC for this Fall quarter for Business Management Economics. My GPA after this past semester was 3.64. However, in retrospect, I feel like I should have applied to UCD since I think I would have had a solid chance at getting accepted. It’s too late now, and I’ve already submitted my SIR for UCSC.

My question is, is it possible to apply to UCD next year as a senior transfer? Or are such applications not even considered?

I am pretty sure that none of the UCs accept transfer students who have senior status. If you really want to go to UCD, and have not yet started any classes at UCSC, you could decline your admission to UCSC, go back to your CCC for another year, and apply to UCD as a junior transfer for fall 2012.

I personally do not think things like that should be allowed since it further clogs up the already impacted CCC pipeline for no good reason, making it even more difficult for students who are serious about transferring to a four year school as soon as possible to get the classes they need.

In addition, with the continuing budget cuts, it is likely the UCs, like the CSUs, will be accepting fewer transfer students next year so your chances for acceptance at UCD for 2012 are probably not going to be as good as you think they might be.

Yeah, I’m definitely not going back to CCC. I’m happy that I was able to transfer in 2 years to UCSC. My only regret is not applying to UCD when I had the chance.

I thought TAGs were only for junior transfers? That’s how I got into UCSC.

What about let’s say. Applying during the Fall for Fall2012 admission to a UC and a Winter/Spring 2012 admission to a CSU. Let’s say you get in the CSU and stay there for one semester. Possible?
